As a child, Molly preferred playing in the forest to being confined to a classroom. A native of Minnesota, Molly began sailing on the Great Lakes and developed a fondness for boats as a teenager. After attending college in Florida she earned her USCG Captain's license and spent most of the 1980's sailing the oceans of the world.
Molly charted a new course in the 1990's, creating and exhibiting her own artwork as well as teaching art to children. "My art is diverse - I enjoy clay sculpture, drawing, collage and mixed media. I disliked school as a child so, ironically, I became a teacher. I wanted to instill a sense of curiosity and discovery in children."
When not traveling, Molly works and teaches art to both children and adults at her studio in Florida. Her art and writing reflect her imagination and the many things collected along the diverse paths she travels.
Molly has a large collection of things, particularly wood and gears.
